Chun and Yueh, the filmmaker’s best friends, were trapped in a cave in Nepal for 47 days. Chun died three days before Yueh’s was rescued. He leaves behind a letter asking for his story to be told. Yi-Shan Lo picks up the camera and accompanies Yueh back into the mountains to follow Chun’s footsteps. Their paths gradually overlap with Chun’s, past and present become blurred and finally converge at the destination of the journey: The cave where Chun died.
In XUE SHUI XIAO RONG DE JI JIE, the young adults engage with their first deep-felt experiences of loss. The thoughts and memories of Yi-Shan Lo and the notes from Chun’s letter intertwine to create a moving testimony of a friendship.
