UN PAESE DI CALABRIA
Catherine Catella, Shu Aiello | Italy, France 2016 | 90 Min. | OmeU
In 1931 Rosa Maria left her village, Riace, to escape poverty. Many others have since done the same. One day Bairam along with 200 Kurds reach the Calabrian coast and decide to stay in Riace. The film portrays a village, revitalized through migration, and goes on to wonderfully show how coexistence, characterized by solidarity and tolerance, is made possible through engaged policy and open community in a focal point in southern Italy
