As the dazzling frontman of the post-punk combo Glue in Los Angeles and a member of the art collective Gelitin in Vienna, Sean DeLear was part of the queer music and art underground scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Between the spotlight and wild party nights, DeLear’s camcorder footage and teenage diary entries tell of a life that resembled a performance and ended far too soon.
DeLear entrusted their private audiovisual archive to their friend and director Markus Zizenbacher. With compassion, he weaves DeLear’s archival material and interviews into an eclectic collage and homage to Sean. The Life of Sean DeLear is a vibrant and energetic portrait of an irresistibly charismatic character.

BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1986, grew up in Vienna. After years in Germany and France, studied at the Film Academy Vienna. Several short films were shown at festivals, eternal writing on never realised screenplays, research for documentary films, caster for feature films, visuals for theatre plays. The Life of Sean DeLear is his first feature length film.
