In the austere landscape of Northern Russia there is a huge lake, which took the life of a son. The Filippovs, a middle-aged married couple who live with and from this beautiful, yet dangerous nature, are the parents left behind. Their life, far away from the civilization, is not only beautifully portrayed by the filmmaker but by the couple itself. The mother and sometimes, on request of his wife, the father, take photos of their tedious everyday reality and share their stories of their son.
