The dramaturgy of Lennart Hüper’s and Lennart Miketta’s pointed short documentary follows the stages of the annual marksmen’s festival in Brilon, Sauerland. Between the parade of the local marksmen’s association and the shooting competition to crown a new marksman king, one should not miss the official speech calling for climate protection and the preservation of peace by the global community.
In the tableaux montage, SCHÜTZENFEST creates an image somewhere between the performance of customs and entertainment business, portraying rural event culture as a way of activating togetherness.

BIOGRAPHY
Lennart Hüper was born in Landsberg am Lech in 1994. He studied film at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund and sociology at the University of Vienna. His documentaries were shown at numerous film festivals including the Viennale, DOK.fest Munich and Visions du Reél. He currently works as a freelance director and cinematographer in Vienna. Lennart Miketta: * 1992 / spent his childhood in Bottrop, NRW. He studied film at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and currently works in the department of storytelling for digital narrative formats at VR project Page21 in Germany, as well as a freelance director and cinematographer.
