This time, the annual peace march in memory of the victims of the Srebrenica massacre takes place under strict Covid regulations. For the relatives and survivors, it is not only a nation’s commemoration of the deadliest genocide in Europe since the Nazi Holocaust, but also a personal search for meaning in coming to terms with the past. Joshua Jádi accompanies Behka, who wants to finish the walk for her brother, who disappeared while trying to bring Behka milkpowder for her newborn during the Bosnian war.
TRACES IN THE FOREST shows the lingering wounds of war and presents the importance of individual and collective memory to overcome the shadows of the past without forgetting them.

BIOGRAPHIES
Bidzina Gogiberidze
Geboren und aufgewachsen ist Bidzina Gogiberidze in Tiflis, Georgien.
Er absolvierte ein Studium an der staatlichen Schota-Rustaweli-Universität für Theater und Film in Tiflis und studierte von 2015-2020 an der FH Dortmund Film & Sound mit dem Schwerpunkt Regie. Sein Abschlussfilm ICH GEH NIRGENDWOHIN wurde auf dem 42. Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis uraufgeführt.
Lennart Hüper
Geboren wurde Lennart Hüper 1994 in Landsberg am Lech. Er studierte Film an der Fachhochschule Dortmund und Soziologie an der Universität Wien. Seine Dokumentarfilme wurden auf zahlreichen Filmfestivals gezeigt u.a. der Viennale, DOK.fest München und Filmfestival Max-Ophüls-Preis. Derzeit studiert er Kunst & Film bei Tizza Covi an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien und arbeitet als freischaffender Regisseur und Kameramann.
