In presence of Laurent Van Lancker
Locked and hidden in a truck, eight migrants try to survive the hardships of a long illegal journey across the borders. In the darkness they exchange their life stories. The accounts of their own journeys intertwine and overlap with biographical stories from a history of European emigration. The resonances between past and present narratives reveal that the history of Europe has always been marked by migration and flight.
NOUS AUTRES is a film that is both poetic and political. Collaboratively staged with the protagonists, autobiographical narratives, archival footage, and dreams of past and present come together to create a sensory and evocative experience.
