The rise of mining in 2012 makes post-communist Mongolia the fastest growing economy in the world. However, the population itself benefits little from this booming industry. Moreover, climate change and overgrazing are leading to ever-expanding desertification. According to Mongolian shamanistic belief, violation of nature by men provokes the anger of the ruling spirits.
MASTERS OF THE LAND weaves spirituality and traditions into a visual portrait of the country and immerses the audience in an exhilarating finale. Texts by shaman Kyrgys Khurak and Hungarian poet Ferenc Juhasz cut the medium long shots.
