In presence of Miaochun Zhang and team
Yang wants to leave behind the run-down oil town she grew up in and sets off for Shanghai. Filmmaker Miaochun Zhang tells the story of Yang’s quest for emancipation and links it to an alleged alien abduction of a certain Huang Yanqiu, which is said to have taken place during the Cultural Revolution. Did Yanqiu just invent it to circumvent China’s strictly regulated internal migration?
I DON’T REMEMBER THAT I DREAMED associatively explores boundaries and conflicts that arise when one dreams of bigger freedoms than are given to the politicised body.
