One house, ten patients, forty employees, and death. In a hospice in central Switzerland, exceptional situations come together with everyday life, faith with rationality, and individualism with institutional mechanisms.

With caution and palpable respect, Annaka Minsch and Léon Melchior Hüsler approach the practices of an institution that accompanies people in the final stages of life. With a great deal of empathy and skillfully interwoven shots they focus on the staff, who must manage the balancing act between administrative necessities and interpersonal needs in their daily encounter with death and dying.
