In a forest on the outskirts of Barcelona, an ageing shepherd makes his rounds with his flock. On his route is a high-tech animal testing laboratory. In the hermetically sealed laboratory, pigs, ducks, and sheep are led through the security gate one by one. Two opposing worlds meet here. While the shepherd practises a profession that is increasingly threatened with extinction, the scientists are busy as never before, searching for a Covid vaccine.

FAUNA is a science fiction fable about the relationship between humans and animals that reflects on harnessing nature and working with animals in science in post-pandemic times.
