The waves splash against the rocks of the harbour walls and wash over the shore. The masses of water that have already begun to gnaw away at the island are slowly approaching. The island’s inhabitants are confronted with the disappearance of their home in the coming decades. Emmanuel Piton’s camera captures the encounters between land and water and tells the story of the past and present of a place that has no future. People share their memories and their connection to this place and to life on the high seas.
Created as a mosaic-like poetic exploration, ENEZ is a cinematic reflection of a small piece of land in the middle of the sea that cannot escape the looming consequences of climate change.
