The young boy Rubel would like to go to School but life forces him to smuggle rice by crossing the river Ganga and furthermore the international border between India and Bangladesh. After the river eroded his prior home he lives now in Char an island within the river also threatened by erosion and controlled by the border police. The families are all scattered today but the kids meet on their endless journey while crossing borders, helpin each other on a lost track of their childhood. We travel with Rubel to the cracking edge of the island in a flooded landscape.
