A DONKEY CALLED GERONIMO
Arjun Talwar, Bigna Tomschin | Denmark, Germany 2018 | 80 Min. | OmeU
Austrian Premiere
A group of idealistic seamen had built their own utopian realm on a picturesque island surrounded by the Baltic Sea. But the attempt to flee from societies’ constraints failed and the group was washed up to the nearest port with no chance of turning back. Something went wrong in their self-created world, something they cannot grasp.
A Donkey Called Geronimo is the filmic approach to capture the lost hopes and dreams of these tenacious islanders who found themselves back in a society they never wanted to participate with and who seem to be trapped by their own nostalgia.
