Auf einer malerischen Insel in der Ostsee hat eine Gruppe von Seeleuten ihr eigenes Königreich errichtet. Doch der Versuch, sich von allen gesellschaftlichen Zwängen zu lösen, scheitert. Als die Gemeinschaft schließlich auseinanderfällt, kehren die Seeleute wieder auf das Festland zurück. Irgendetwas lief falsch in ihrer selbstkreierten Welt, etwas, das sie nicht in Worte fassen können.
A Donkey Called Geronimo ist der Versuch einer visuellen Annäherung an die verflossenen Hoffnungen und Träume der einstigen Inselbewohner, die zwischen dem Schwelgen in Erinnerungen an jene Zeit und den aktuellen Herausforderungen ihres trostlosen Alltags gefangen zu sein scheinen.

Biography Arjun Talwar
Arjun Talwar was born in 1984 and grew up in Bombay. He left India to study Mathematics at Stanford University and later worked as mathematician, cartoonist and journalist before joining the cinematogra- phy department of the Polish Film School in Lodz. His documentaries «WHERE I CAN’T BE FOUND» and «HABITAT» both premiered at Vision du Réel in Nyon, and were acclaimed internationally. He currently lives in Germany.
Biography Bigna Tomschin
Bigna Tomschin is an editor and director from Zurich, Switzerland. She studied film at the Zurich Univer- sity of the Arts. She has worked as editor on feature films and documentaries for Cinema and TV (ARTE, SRF). Never having stopped making movies herself, she founded her own production company Lo-Fi Films in 2014. Lo-Fi Films aims to produce truly independent documentary films for cinema with high stylistic value.
