MARANA
Giovanni Benini, Davide Provolo | Italy 2020 | 64 Min. | OmeU
Summer is almost over in the Italian foothills. While Giorgia and Lorenzo experience tentative moments of intimacy, Mirko and Max wander abandoned places, trying to imagine a somewhat realistic future. The group of teenagers balances their lives between reality and fantasy, physical and metaphysical, fear and joy seemingly in their own time, a state that allows them to experience a fleeting present made of discoveries, rituals, and relationships.
MARANA is a journey into the world of autism, in which the longings of youth for love are told without prejudice. With a lot of trust and without grand cinematic gestures, the film allows us to participate in the emotional world of the youth.
