YOU HIDE ME by Nii Kwate Owoo is a groundbreaking 1970 short film that exposes the looting of African artifacts by colonial powers. Shot clandestinely inside the British Museum, the film reveals the hidden treasures of Ghana and other African nations, stolen and displayed without acknowledgment of their origins. With a bold and urgent tone, Owoo challenges the ongoing exploitation of African heritage and calls for restitution. A landmark in activist filmmaking, YOU HIDE ME remains a powerful critique of cultural appropriation and an unflinching demand for justice in the preservation of African history.
