A mother mourns the loss of her son who was disappeared by soldiers never to return home again. To this day, the ghosts of the violent past of the struggle between Tamils and Sinhalese continue to affect the search and mourning for loved ones.
Your Touch Makes Others Invisible condenses the stories of enforced disappearances during the government’s 30-year war against the Tamil Tiger separatists with the quiet sounds of bereavement and trauma. In a collaborative process with members of the Tamil community, Rajee Samarasinghe confronts the open wounds of genocide by juxtaposing narratives with fictional and ghostly fragments.

Rajee Samarasinghe is a Sri Lankan filmmaker. Your Touch Makes Others Invisible is his debut feature, which has received support from Sundance, Berlinale Talents, and Field of Vision, and had its world premiere at IFFR 2025.
