Als es Ende 1970 in mehreren Städten im kommunistischen Polen zu einem Arbeiter*innenaufstand begleitet von Streiks und Massenkundgebungen kommt, beruft die Regierung einen Krisenstab ein, um wieder Herr der Lage zu werden. Bisher unveröffentlichte Telefonmitschnitte legen offen, wie sich der Aufstand aus der Sicht des Militärs und der Regierenden entwickelte und wie es schließlich zu dem fatalen Schießbefehl auf die eigene Bevölkerung kam.
Das eindringliche und fesselnd erzählte Zeitzeugnis 1970 beleuchtet die Sicht der Regierenden anstatt die der Demonstrant*innen und entfaltet sich anhand von Tondokumenten und der Verwebung von Archivmaterial und animiertem Puppentrickfilm.

BIOGRAPHY
Tomasz Wolski: Member of Guild of Polish Documentary Directors, Polish Film Academy and European Film Academy. Director of short film “Daughter” (Grand Prix at Angers Premiers Plan) and director, editor, cinematographer of 13 documentaries awarded at many international festivals like Visions du Réel, Los Angeles Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival, Punto de Vista, Camerimage and Krakow Film Festival.
